“It’s been a year daddy” you hear your daughter Darcy say. She carried on “I really really miss you but Mommy says you’re in a safe place now. A beautiful place called -” Darcy looked up to you. “What was it again mommy?” she smiled at you, her beautiful green eyes. “Heaven” you whispered to her. “Oh yeah, a beautiful place called heaven”. You were silent, letting her talk. “We had your favourite dinner tonight, I ate it all up, even though I don’t like carrots. I learned how to swim this summer, I can even open my eyes under water” She paused as a tear was streaming down her face landing onto the dirt. “Can’t you see me?” she asked looking up to the sky.
“I started kindergarten this year. People bully me because they say I don’t have a daddy, but you’re still here. I carry a picture of us in my hello kitty lunch box. You’re the greatest daddy. I can swing on the swing by myself even though I miss you pushing me. I try not to cry, mommy says it’s okay. I know you don’t like it when I cry. I try daddy but it hurts, is it true you’re not coming home? Maybe some day I can visit you in heaven. Everynight I go to sleep, I sleep with the light on just in case you come home and kiss me goodnight. I love you so much, I miss you daddy”.
She walked back taking Louis’ hands and walking away to give you some time.
You stepped forward sitting down on the grass. “It’s just so hard, without you here. I just miss you so much. Darcy is practically raising herself because I’m just so lost” a tear dropped to the ground soaking the dirt. “No one talks to me anymore since you’ve been gone.” Harry stayed quiet letting you cry. I quiet breeze rushed through the trees leaving goosebumps on your arms.
“Niall isn’t doing so well either, maybe you could visit him and make him feel better?”. You lifted your shoulders “What’s the point? Nothing will make him feel better”.
“I haven’t spoken to Liam in-” you thought to yourself, when was the last time you spoke to Liam? “I haven’t spoken to him ever since the day in the hospital” you quickly added.
“Why did you have to leave?” you asked yourself. “If you had of just stayed with me everything would’ve been okay”. You were choked, you didn’t know what to say. Anger was building up, the sadness was gone. “None of this would of happened if you stayed with me.” You yelled. You had remembered Harry calling you about the X factor house, the live shows, the record deal, the signings, the concerts, the award shows, the tours but not the accident.
That was the end of it all. When that car smashed into Harry, it all disappeared. Everything they worked for went down the drain. They weren’t One Direction anymore.
“I just miss you.” you whispered staring at the tombstone “I wish I can fix everything but I can’t. I know I can’t” your voice broke.
“You were my best friend, the person I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with.” You said in a high pitched voice. “You left me alone and I don’t know what to do.” You turn your head behind you to see Darcy and Louis in the car waiting for you.
“I just wish I could talk to you. I wish you can tell me how much you love me and we can share those last few minutes I was with you and we can just forget that accident. I just wish I can see you one more time.” You whispered to Harry as you touched his tombstone. In those last few seconds of consciousness, you felt a touch on your shoulder you turned around and saw his figure staring back at you. You heard a faint whisper as he just said
“You can”.
